So many of us desire the ability to enjoy our lives, to feel control over the turbulence, but feel stuck in a never-ending cycle of stress and chaos.  You feel like everything you do is wrong, you always make poor choices, or what the world expects from you is too much to handle.  There's never enough time, you're always stressing over the littlest thing, and nothing seems to make you happy anymore.   

It doesn't have to be this way. So how does it work?  Maybe you've been to therapy before, but after a while you hit a wall or felt like it wasn't helping you.  You've processed some of your feelings, learned a relaxation technique like Deep Breathing, and tried to change the unhelpful thoughts spinning in your head, but you're still not where you want to be.

Most traditional therapies fall short in providing you the knowledge you need to understand what is happening to you.  It's one of the biggest mistakes new clinicians in the field make.  They jump right into "interventions" but don't spend enough time laying the critical foundation work needed for you to be truly successful in therapy.  Just like a house needs a solid foundation to stand the test of time, so do YOU to be successful in treatment AND in your life!  Knowledge is power, and understanding the psychological underpinnings, as well as the neuroscience behind why you are suffering, provides a solid foundation for a new, happier life.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

  2. Effective treatment requires MORE than what traditional therapies can offer.  You need to learn skills that help stabilize you and help you cope with your life RIGHT NOW.  Your life won't wait for you to "get better."  You need to meet the demands of your job, your family, and your obligations right now in order to regain control.  Only then can you begin to work on your past, heal old wounds, and grow yourself into a healthier frame of mind.  Utilizing a skill-based approach backed by neuroscience, you'll find yourself picking up the pieces and putting your life back together one step at a time.
